Where Is Four Corners, Florida?

As someone who has lived in the Sunshine State for more than 20 years, and in the same city for all that time, I must admit that I was surprised when a friend asked if I had heard of Four Corners…Florida.

The only Four Corners that came to mind when she asked was the geographic region out West where southwestern Colorado, southeastern Utah, northeastern Arizona and northwestern New Mexico meet.

But Four Corners, Florida?

My curiosity piqued, I set out to learn more about this new-to-me part of the state. It turns out that Florida does indeed have its own iteration of Four Corners, and it’s right off of I-4, the intrastate highway that links Tampa to Daytona and runs through Orlando.

Florida’s Four Corners is where Lake, Orange, Osceola, and Polk counties meet. To be more precise, think of points north, west, and south of Walt Disney World, which sits on the western edge of Orange County. Walt Disney World is so big that Disney's All-Star Movies Resort technically sits in neighboring Osceola County to the south.

So, just what is there to do in Four Corners, Florida? Here, several ideas to get you started and well on your way to discovering a part of the state that’s likely new to you, too.

Showcase of Citrus

Before there were theme parks, there were citrus groves as far as the eye could see in Central Florida. Showcase of Citrus, known as Florida’s Fresh Air Attraction, unfolds over 2,500 acres in Clermont (Lake County) where more than 50 varieties of citrus are grown. It’s choose-your-own-adventure at this family-friendly attraction—mine for treasure while learning about science and technology; visit and feed farm animals like goats, chickens, and pigs; or take an hour-long monster truck tour of the working citrus and cattle ranch estate.

If you’re visiting November through May, pick your own citrus like oranges, lemons, and limes, right from the tree. Showcase of Citrus is open every day, and is pet-friendly, too.

Orlando Cat Café

Florida’s first cat café makes its cozy home in Clermont (Lake County), about four miles west of the big cats at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The Orlando Cat Café opened its doors six years ago, and it’s been, well, the cat’s meow ever since.

Stop by and play with kittens and cats until your heart’s content, and then satiate your appetite with pastries, coffe,e and tea.

If you find yourself falling for one of the cats in the café, check with the staff and see. She may just be available for adoption through SPCA Florida.

Orlando Tree Trek Adventure Park

Tiptoe among the treetops of a natural pine forest, and test your limits at Orlando Tree Trek Adventure Park in Kissimmee (Osceola County). This challenging high-ropes, aerial obstacle course progresses in difficulty as it goes, featuring Tarzan ropes, suspended bridges, swinging logs, hanging nets, and much more.

In fact, nearly 100 aerial challenges await, not to mention a 425-foot-ling zip line. If you’ve got kids tagging along, they’ll find their own thrills on two different kids courses with 21 challenges to complete.

Fantasy Island Resort

If you’re traveling with a group—we’re talking a really big group—why stay in individual hotel rooms or a couple of Airbnbs when you can rent a 15,000-square-foot vacation rental home that sleeps 70? Fantasy Island Resort Orlando in Davenport (Polk County), boasts 20 movie-themed bedrooms that play soundtracks unique to each bedroom when you walk in; think Titanic, Lion King, and Rocky.
