Saturday was expected to be the fourth busiest of the spring break season, according to the Orlando Airport, with more than 171,000 travelers.
Getting to the airport early seems to be the way to go. Several travelers told WESH they arrived three to four hours early.
From March 4 to April 18, Orlando International is expecting 7.3 million passengers according to the airport. They're expecting a million more travelers this spring break season than last.
For some early arrivers at the airport, hotel shuttle times left them with plenty of time to get to their gate.
"They make you come three hours early," Katherine Singleton said. "And then our flight got delayed an hour so we ended up really early so we're fine."
But for Dawn Walker, it was an early warning from family members had her getting to the airport early.
"The line," Walker said. "Half our family left earlier, and they already said it was a mess. So we returned the car two hours early and we're here four hours early."
Phillip Tibbetts, from Kansas City, said past issues at the airport had him arriving early.
"We had a lot of people coming in and out during the holidays and every time they'd come back home they'd sit here for three, four hours," he said. "So it's like better get in early."
When he got to the airport he had concerns about a lengthy luggage drop line.
"I thought of when we were going to Nevada for Christmas," Tibbetts said. "And our flight just up and disappeared no nothing. I was like, oh, are we going to do this again?"
But it moved quicker than he thought.
"It's moving good, so I shouldn't complain," he said.
Sunday is expected to be another busy day, with the airport expecting it to be their ninth busiest of the spring break season. They're predicting March 25 to be the busiest.
