Magical Dining Month returns Aug. 28 with new takeout, outdoor dining options

It’ll take more than a global pandemic to stop Visit Orlando’s Magical Dining.

The popular program, which features dozens of area eateries offering three-course, fixed-price meals for $35, returns on Aug. 28 with COVID-19-prompted tweaks for both safety and convenience and, for the first time ever, takeout and delivery options.

Magical Dining was initially inspired to spark business at area eateries during a traditionally slow time of year; in 2020, that’s more relevant than ever as so many struggle to keep doors open and staff employed. Charity-driven as always, this year’s edition will benefit Feed the Need Florida, which has served more than one million meals to families since March.

“Visit Orlando originally started this program 15 years ago to support local restaurants during the off-season, and this year is literally the most significant and longest off-season these businesses have ever faced,” said George Aguel, president and CEO of Visit Orlando, in a press release. “Supporting this program is a positive benefit for all — residents get to enjoy fine dining at a value, local businesses can put employees to work, and Central Florida residents in need will receive meals through this year’s charity recipient, Feed the Need.”
