The 14-story addition to the Walt Disney Swan and Dolphin resort has reached a milestone and also been given a new name. Construction has been topped out on the tower, which will now be known as the Walt Disney World Swan Reserve.

The last beam has been lifted to the top of the structure, which will have 349 rooms and is scheduled to open in summer 2021. The project previously had been called the Cove. Ground was broken for the tower in fall 2018.

“As we advanced with the project on construction, marketing and operations, we decided the Walt Disney World Swan Reserve was a better fit,” said Sean Verney, area general manager. “We feel this name represents the boutique, sophisticated and relaxing ambiance the hotel will provide guests.”

The Swan Reserve lineup includes 149 suites designed for families or executive collaborations. Top-floor event space, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows, will provide views of Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme parks. It will have its own signature restaurant, lobby lounge, grab-and-go market, health club and pool, along with access to the amenities in the original Swan and Dolphin buildings.

Both the Swan and Dolphin hotels opened in 1990. After construction is complete, the total room count for Swan, Dolphin and Swan Reserve will be 2,619 rooms.
