This article is more than 2 years old.

Disney DIS has officially announced their new in-park planning tool and attraction reservation system, Disney Genie, will launch October 19 at Walt Disney World. Disney Genie will be integrated into the current My Disney Experience app to allow guests to optimize their time while touring the four Walt Disney World theme parks while using an advanced algorithm to personalize the guest experience for each party using the service.

Disney Genie will be able to suggest attractions or entertainment based on current wait times. It will also let guests know if they should wait to ride popular attractions like Space Mountain at Magic Kingdom Park or Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios based on forecasted wait times for the day. This plus the new tip board that will be integrated into the current My Disney Experience app will essentially allow guests to plan an entire day at Walt Disney World without having to waste a moment of time figuring out what to do next.

When it’s time for a meal Disney Genie will be able to see if guests have any pre-planned dining reservations and remind guests of that, or suggest alternatives like mobile ordering at quick service restaurants, joining a table service walk-up waitlist or making a day-of reservation at a table service restaurant.

Throughout the day Disney Genie can optimize for thousands of combinations and touring possibilities for visitors at Walt Disney World and give them personalized itineraries based on a short survey that is completed before each park day, or based on past experiences that Disney is aware of for each guest. Disney Genie will also be able to combine two or more parks into a plan if guests have tickets or annual passes that allow for park hopping between the four Walt Disney World theme parks.

Within the Disney Genie service Walt Disney World guests can purchase Disney Genie+, which is similar in style to the former Disney MaxPass service that was available at the Disneyland Resort. For $15 per person, per day patrons at Walt Disney World will be able to reserve times to experience attractions with the new Lightning Lane service, which was formerly known as FastPass. Over 40 attractions across all four theme parks will use Lightning Lane with Disney Genie+. Those looking to make Lightning Lane reservations can start doing so at 7:00 a.m. on the day of their visit.

On top of Disney Genie+, visitors to Walt Disney World will be able to purchase two individual Lightning Lane reservations at up to two attractions per day. Disney has mentioned that guests will not need to purchase Disney Genie+ to gain access to purchasing individual Lightning Lane attraction reservations. Those staying at Walt Disney World resort hotels will be able to purchase individual Lightning Lane reservations starting at 7:00 a.m. All other guests will be able to make their first individual Lightning Lane purchase when their chosen park opens.

According to Disney prices for individual Lightning Lane attractions will vary based on date, attraction and park. For example, if someone is looking to ride Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure on October 19, the price could be $9, and on October 23 cost $11 per person.

As of publishing there’s been no date announced for when the Disneyland Resort will debut Disney Genie, Disney Genie+ and Lightning Lane services.
