The winner will bring along 49 family members and friends for a once-in-a-lifetime Orlando vacation in honor of the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort 

Jennifer Young from Long Island, New York, has won Visit Orlando’s Most Magical Gathering contest and will enjoy an Orlando vacation experience of her dreams with 49 of her closest family members and friends at Walt Disney World Resort. 

The grand prize celebration for 50 people includes a three-night, four-day stay at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, two private catered group celebrations produced by a Disney event specialist from Disney Meetings & Events and theme park tickets. In early March, Young and her family will celebrate three special events – a shared 50th birthday party with her husband and her parents’ 50th wedding anniversary – and will be visiting during the 50th anniversary celebration at Walt Disney World Resort. The contest prize also includes roundtrip airfare to Orlando provided by Spirit Airlines. 

“It’s been such a long time since all of us have been in the same place at the same time and we’re looking forward to having a lot of fun together,” said Jennifer Young. “There is a lot to celebrate!” 

Young and her family were notified about winning the prize on a Zoom call in mid-January with representatives from Visit Orlando, Walt Disney World Resort and Spirit Airlines. The news that Young was selected as the winner of the grand prize was met with cheers, applause and happy tears from family members and friends sprinkled throughout New York, Delaware and South Carolina. 

Young’s contest submission told the story of her close-knit circle of family members and friends who believe that life is better when they are laughing together, the personal impact of the global pandemic, and how she hoped the prize would give the family the gift of a reunion to make up for lost time. Young also focused on important milestone celebrations they hoped to be reunited for, including Young and her husband’s 50th birthdays, the 50th wedding anniversary of Young’s parents, and her mother-in-law’s 80th birthday, along with special events for her daughters, including high school and college graduations and a Sweet 16 birthday.

Flights for the Young family for Visit Orlando’s Most Magical Gathering will be provided by Spirit Airlines. Spirit is the second-largest carrier at Orlando International Airport and its largest international operator. The airline’s fleet of Airbus aircraft is among the youngest in the U.S. 

Visit Orlando’s Most Magical Gathering contest launched in October 2021 during the start of the 50th anniversary celebration of Walt Disney World Resort. All contest entries required the submission of a group photo and 250-word story answering the question “Why do you and your family need a Magical Gathering.” The top finalists were invited to submit a two-minute video to describe why their family deserves a Magical Gathering and should win the grand trip prize.
